CHERRY PIE RECIPE
One box of Pillsbury pie crust from the deli case. Fill with two cans of Wilderness cherry pie filling. Follow directions on back of pie filling can for baking instructions.
A story Grandpa Lee told me a long time ago was that when he was returning to the United States on a troop ship at the end of World War I, he wasn’t able to eat the steamed food they cooked for the soldiers. When the ship reached New York City, an old lady was on the dock selling raisin pies. He bought one and ate the whole thing.
And who could forget the Thanksgiving when Louise, the cat, jumped from the top of the refrigerator and landed in the pumpkin pie, leaving four perfect paw prints. Fortunately, the pie had been covered with a tea towel. A little extra whipped cream disguised the damage and no one was any wiser.
