COCONUT MACAROONS
In a mixing bowl, combine:
22/3 cup of flake coconut
2/3 cup sugar
¼ cup flour
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup of sliced or chopped almonds
Stir in and mix well:
4 egg whites
1 teaspoon almond flavoring
Drop by teaspoonfuls on lightly greased cookie sheet and garnish with candied cherry halves if desired. Bake at 325 until lightly browned, about 20 minutes. Watch carefully so they don’t burn. Should make about 30 cookies.
