FRENCH TOAST
This recipe is for Jim. He loves french toast but seems to think it is too complicated for him to fix.
This recipe will make about 4 slices of toast.
Make a batter of:
3 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring (the secret ingredient)
Beat this with a fork in a bowl wide enough to accommodate a slice of bread.
Dip slices of bread (both sides) in the batter and fry in a small amount of shortening (butter is good) until nicely browned on both sides.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar, and then serve with butter and syrup, or jam.
