Ice Box Cookies

I think the cream of tarter is the secret that makes these cookies so crisp.


1 cup shortening (Lard is best)
1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3 eggs
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon
6 cups of flour
1 cup chopped nuts (peanuts are good)


Mix pretty much in order given. Make into rolls and refrigerate overnight (or freeze until a later date). Slice and bake untill golden brown, 375 degrees.
